Head Sommelier Charles Carron Brown

Brown is an English Sommelier, a bit of an unusual concept in a restaurant of this nature… How did it all start? Charles got into wine at the age of 19, after a brief stint at University studying Hospitality and Events Management…

He embarked on his Sommelier career at The Ritz London in 2010, where he was mentored by Tobias Brauweiller MS, who taught him a huge amount,  Brown completed a four-year tenure at the Ritz and by in 2014 he had also completed stints at Pollen Street Social and Roka.

In May of 2015 after nearly 5 years in London, he felt it was time to move on and pursue other opportunities, taking up a role with L’Enclume as the Assistant Head Sommelier.

In the late summer of 2016 a role as Head Sommelier at Forest Side, where he has firmly established his mark on the wine list… the list features a good cross section of wines created in the natural style, but don’t worry there are still a good selection of ‘classics’ for those who really know what they like…
