Restaurant Manager Gareth Newton
Newton is a native of the Cartmel Peninsula, having grown up in the village of Allithwaite, before progressing to Dallam School and then to college. Like many in the hospitality trade Gareth started working in the industry whilst at college.
He initially worked at the Pig and Whistle in Cartmel, before moving on to the Holland Hall Country House Hotel in 2008, where he started as a trainee manager. Gareth rapidly progressed becoming hotel restaurant manager, as well as looking after conferencing and banqueting.
By 2011 he had joined L’Enclume, where he first met Kevin Tickle, before joining Holbeck Ghyll in 2014, initially as assistant restaurant manager, but it wasn’t long before he was promoted. In 2015 he took the opportunity to join the team at Forest Side and re-acquaint himself with his old colleague Kevin Tickle, initially as assistant restaurant manager, but again it wasn’t long until he was promoted to his current role as restaurant manager.
Alongside all that sports mad Gareth is a proud dad of two boys and when he has time he likes to keep his hand in with the odd game of footy…
